Newsletter - November 2017
Dear DOZ friends,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and Enjoying the Journey. It has been a while since my last newsletter, and so many exciting things have happened since then.
In July, we had a one day Ladies Conference, Enjoy the Journey. It was wonderful. We had approximately 200 women attend. The excitement was contagious and overflowing. We witnessed so many sovereign moves of God, salvations, healings, and lives forever changed. It was a tremendous success, and we look forward to the next one.
I especially enjoyed the theme: Enjoy the Journey. These days, it is not always easy to enjoy all that is happening around us and to us, but God’s word tells us to be content in all things. (Phil. 4:11-13) I have personally found that in those times when life gets hard and it feels like my world is crumbling around me, I can cry out to my Heavenly Father and He is always right there to lift me up. How? Through His Word and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit! He wants to encourage us in those hard times so we can rise above all that the world throws at us.
He has told us that in this life we will have trials and tribulations, but He also said to be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world. (John 16:33). When it seems hard or impossible, remember He said that He would make a way for us where there seems to be no way. (Isaiah 42:16-19) He told us that He has come so that we might have life and live more abundantly. (John 10:10) That sounds to me like He really wants us to Enjoy the Journey while we are here.
So, child of God, when you get down and times get hard… look up! Remember, He has made a way and will help you overcome whatever the devil throws at you. He loves you so much and wants you to Enjoy the Journey. So let’s enjoy together!
We recently returned from a trip to Honduras. What a glorious time we had… many salvations and healings. It is so wonderful to see the work God is doing in the precious people of Honduras; especially in the village of El Rosario. In that village, we have a feeding program, a church, a vocational school of welding & sewing classes, and a weekly ladies & children’s Bible class. We also have 23 teenagers in private school.
In Honduras, after you finish the 8th grade, your education ends unless you can pay to finish high school. These people are so poor that, without help, they can’t send their kids to school. But thanks to many of you, we are able to help them further their education. In December, we will have eight students graduating in our first high school graduating class. We will also have one graduating from nursing school and two others continuing in nursing school. We also had our first four graduates from the Vocational Welding School. Praise the Lord! I am SO proud of these precious kids… just like a proud Mama!!
God has called us to do a work, and I am thankful to each of you for helping us accomplish this mission. It is because of God’s love shown through your giving that we are enabled to continue and fulfill the work helping those less fortunate, here and abroad. I pray that God will continue to pour out His richest blessings on you and that you will prosper in all that you do. God bless you!
Serving him Joyfully,
Charlotte
